Saturday March 10th, 2007 15:21 From Trieste to Copenhagen: hands down from social centres!
Late in the morning a sit in took place in Trieste. The initiative meant to express solidarity to all bothers and sisters that in Copenhagen are struggling against the demolition of Ungdomshuset. At the same time, the sit in wished to point out what’s happening in Italy. From Padua to Trento and Rimini, administrations are trying to put the word end to very important social experiences.
In Trieste Alleanza Nazionale (Italian right wing party) has been campaigning against “Casa delle Culture”, which they say to be abusive because of having sit a bench nearby the building. The bench came right after Mr Bandelli, city councillor, took all benches away not to have homeless citizens use them. Next Monday at 7.00 p.m another sit in shall occur in Trieste. Place is the City council where AN is to present a proposal against Casa delle Culture. See the news in Italian.
