Saturday March 10th, 2007 18:47 Berlin (Germany) - Ungdomshuset resists! A solidarity demonstration
The demonstration called by Ungdomshuset Solidarity Group has just started in Berlin. Eugenio, CopyRiotCafè Padova, is in Berlin. "Many that we’re reaching the meeting point of the demo - he says - were stopped and searched by police".
3,000 activists were in the streets of Berlin. The call to action was launched by the social centre Kobi. And the most important antifascist groups, cultural circles and underground subjects embraced the call.
Police “escorted” the demo. At the end, when the demo reached its end, the one authorised by police. Cops intimated activists to break the demo.
Activists did not accept the orders and police clashed them. Then arrests come.
The answer back of demonstrators was a “Reclaim the streets” event in the street nearby.
The police immediately intervened, again by clashing and arrestino activists, who did not withdraw.
This went on up to 11.30 p.m. Thirty people were arrested.
