"The situation of Kurdish people of these years has became better altought European Union has started up contractations to make agreements about the situation of human rights. Also today, it’s forbidden talking the own language, the kurdish newspapers are closed or receive continually denounces in relation to every initiatives they make.
Also the possibility to build parties of kurdish representance is forbidden and that is because all the kurdish are described as terrorists, without any defence from EU. In addiction to this, the arrest of Ocalan has increased the mistrust of Kurdish people against this EU."

Ertuğrul Kürkçü - 74.9 kbErtuğrul Kürkçü – Journalist of Bianet – Turkey
"Turkey is a young republic with mor than 25 different etnies which is trying to enter into the EU as a united nation hiding the internal tensions. The Turkish and the Kurdish aspects smash with european concept, which see, of the entire culture, only the arab and muslim elements opposed to their own christian and occidental elements. The laws about safety in Europe are laws against migrants, so the safety is granted only to white people, to Christians and Occidental ones.
This kind of democracy means racism.
The European idea of Turkish imaginary is that of opportunism because EU sees Turkey only as an instrument and not as an opportunity.
The concept of Europe, in Turkey, is connected with the idea of progress. Nowadays Turkish people wants to create its own models. For the Turkish bourgeoise class, EU is still a sure opportunity for an economic purpose, while for the working class it would not make any differences to be part of it.
In general Turkish and Kurdish people are not satisfied about relationship with EU."
