Friday June 11th, 2004 10:26 Palestine - “We will not fly planes that kill and destroy anymore!"

We have interviewed Jonathan, an Israeli refusnik, currently in Italy for a series of assemblies.

Jonathan explains to us how, around 9 months ago, him and other colleagues at the Israeli Auronautics decided to refuse to continue to bomb the Palestinian occupied territories and kill civilians durning the numerous assasinations imposed by Sharon’s government. "It was a difficult choice, after 10 years of service as a pilot, but needed: the situation must change."

We also asked Jonathan what the reaction was from his co-patriots when he announced his refusal. "More and more we receive support from Israeli intellectuals, nevertheless our battle is supported mostly by internationals and it is that very international comunity that pressures Sharon’s government, especially by European citizens.

We have a dream: The jewish comuinity in the world that stands up against the massacres of Sharon, against the things that happen in Palestine every day," concludes Jonathan.
