Wednesday September 22nd, 2004 15:50 Ramallah and Al-Biereh completely closed

Soldiers closed the northern and western entrances of Ramallah and Al-Biereh and several surrounding villages, in the north of the West Bank barring the residents from leaving their areas.

WAFA news Agency said that soldier stopped tens of cars and withheld hundreds of residents on tens of roadblocks erected in the area on Tuesday.

The agency added that soldiers withheld hundreds of residents on Atarah checkpoint, in the north of Ramallah causing delays and huge traffic jam.

Meanwhile, on the southern entrance of Ramallah, on Betunia-Beit Areek road, soldiers erected a portable checkpoint and barred hundreds of residents from crossing it.

Soldiers on the other hand, erected a checkpoint on the main road which links the village of Kharabtha Bani Misbah with the city of Ramallah and conducted vast searched.
