Today more than 40 Italian activists from the Agire Nella Crisi network staged a flash mob and press conference in front of the Tyrolean Parliament. The activists presented the action planned on the next 3rd of April when hundreds of people will demonstrate at the Brenner, the Austrian-Italian border that the Austrian authorities would like to close to keep migrants out. What we say instead is that we will not accept this closure and we will not accept the end of Schengen. European people have the right to freely move within Europe and at the same time the right to asylum must be granted to all the migrants running away from war, violence and misery. For the last four days hundreds of us were at Idomeni to bring material aids and support to more than 10.000 migrants stuck there. All of them risk now to be sent back to Turkey, a country that is not respecting the basic human rights and is financing Daesh, one of the main causes of the instability of the Middle East.
So on April the 3rd we will march across the border between Italy and Austria, we will not ask for any permission and we will not be identified, simply because the Europe we want is not that nationalisms, walls or barbed wire, but that of freedom of movement for everyone.
