
Stanley Aronowitz is Professor of Sociology at the City University of New York.
He’s been attending to studies about work, science and technology and about the movements. He’s director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Technology and Work.
He was a student of Herbert Marcuse and is one of the founders of the review “Social Text”.
As a young man he worked in a factory, he was in the trade union and he fought for social rights during the Sixties.
He published 23 books and many articles, always keeping social activism in mind.
