Ricardo Montoya

Ricardo Montoya was born in 1972.
He graduated in Plastic Arts at the National University of Bogotà and is always been jointing his artistical engagement and his political and social militancy: students’ collectives, places of urban resistance in the barrios of the suburbs of the Columbian capital city.
He’s been working during the last years with students, young people, teenager and children at the "Templo de la Cultura" in Bogotà: he arranges artistical workshops using recycled material, and theatrical and musical coreographies.
He’s one of the founders of the ZI’KAWA TWI project.
Some of his most famous works are the big Che Guevara murales that decorated the famous "Plaza Che" at the National University.
The main thread of his work is the concept of Liberation.
Ricardo is absorbed, as an artist, in the resistance events of his time, country and continent.
